My xbox controller keeps disconnecting from my xbox?
I got an xbox 360 elite for christmas. It came with a black wireless controller. Starting yesterday, the controller disconnects every ten seconds. Its really annoying. I also have two other white controllers, and they never disconnect. But, i also noticed that the controller only disconnects when it is in the first player slot. And also, the white controllers menu button light spins in a cirlce always. Im not sure what that means, but the menu lights are never still. I dont know if this problem is because of the xbox, or because of controllers, and i really need help. Thanks.
If you haven’t yet it is a good idea to switch the power pack. I had this happen and the pack was bad. If the switch does nothing find another Xbox to see it the same problem occurs. If so the controller may have an issue.

you most likely are out of range of the 360 so get a bit closer to the xbox and it should stop

It probably needs new batteries
or the batt pack is broken. To check if it needs new batteries, press teh xbox guide button and a screen will pop up. if you see at the very top left hand corner of that screen, there will be a controller and a battery that has rectangles in it. I’m gonna take a guess and says it’s you batteries.
Press the xbox button on your controller. when that menu thingy comes up, check the top left corner of it. There’s a little picture of a battery and that shows how much there is.

When it disconnects does te green light on the controller go out?
1. NO - You are out of range, have something between you and the xbox made of metal, need new batteries.
2. YES - Try new batteries. If it doesn’t work then try the following:
Connect to the Xbox, and then tap the controller handle (not the battery pack) against your hand. If the light goes out its a loose battery pack - do the following:
a) create a hook out of a paper clip
b) remove the pack and turn it over
c) look for the small flat silver oblong in the centre of the label stuck to the underside of the controller.
d) Using your hook carefully hook underneath this and pull it up so that it remains slightly proud of the plastic.
e) retry tap test. Repeat if necessary, BUT DON’T OVER DO IT!!
